2 Quick, Creative Cards Using Background Stamps and the Stampwheel 2.0

Hello Altenew friends, Hannelie here today with two quick, creative designs that show how I used the Stampwheel 2.0 to breathe new life into two of my older and well-loved background stamps!

I’ll walk you through creating two stunning cards: one in shades of blue and the other in sunny yellow. I decided on a monochromatic color palette , which is a timeless design choice. Both designs feature a creative background, sentiment, die-cut accent, and thoughtful embellishments for a cohesive and polished look.

What excites me most about this larger-format tool is how it opens up endless possibilities for using large background stamps in innovative ways. From partial stamping that adds elegant white space to a design, to rotating those background stamps for unique effects, the Stampwheel 2.0 lets you stretch your supplies and bring fresh ideas to life. To Make the Monochromatic Blue Card You Will Need:

1. Stampwheel 2.0
2. White cardstock to create an A2 card
3. Dainty Swiss Dots background stamp
4. Northern Shore Fresh Dye ink cube set
5. Big Hugs sentiment and coordinating die from the BAG : Sulfur Cosmos stamp set
6.  Northern Shore enamel dots (hearts)
7. Stencil Art: Nature Splashes Add-On Die Set
8. Die Cutting Machine
9. Instant Dimension Foam Tape

Step by Step Instructions to Make the Monochromatic Blue Card:

1. Trim and fold white cardstock to create an A2 card.
2. Remove the detachable side panel of the Stampwheel 2.0 and place the card on the sticky mat.
3. Stamp the first part using Icy Water Fresh Dye Ink (for stamp positions please see reference photo in step 4).
4. Remove the stamp from the flip plate, reposition the card, and determine the placement for the second part. See stamp position in reference photo below.  Stamp with Arctic Mountain Fresh Dye Ink.
   
5. Stamp the sentiment using a gradient effect: a lighter blue shade at the top and a darker blue at the bottom. Use the coordinating die to cut cut the sentiment.
6. Die-cut a branch from the Stencil Art: Nature Splashes Add-On Die Set. For added dimension, cut it three times and layer them together. Apply Polar Bear Fresh Dye Ink directly to the die-cut branch for a subtle touch of color.
7. Use Instant Dimension Foam Tape to adhere the sentiment, tucking the die-cut branch behind it for a layered look.
8. Embellish the card with heart-shaped accents from the Northern Shore Enamel Dots set.

To Make the Monochromatic Yellow Card You Will Need:

1. Stampwheel 2.0
2. White cardstock to create an A2 card
3. Pinstripe background stamp
4. Pocketful of Sunshine Fresh Dye ink cube set
5. Hello sentiment and coordinating die from the BAG : Sulfur Cosmos stamp set
6. Pocketful of Sunshine enamel dots
7. Stencil Art: Nature Splashes Add-On Die Set
8. Die Cutting Machine
9. Instant Dimension Foam Tape

Step by Step Instructions to Make the Monochromatic Yellow Card:

1. Trim and fold white cardstock to create an A2 card.
2. Remove the detachable side panel of the Stampwheel 2.0, and place the card on the sticky mat.
3. Use Fresh Lemon Ink to stamp the first part of the Pinstripe background. Reposition the card and stamp, then use Honey Drizzle Ink to stamp the second part of the background. Please refer to the reference photo below for stamp positions.
   
4. Stamp the sentiment using a gradient effect: a lighter shade of yellow at the top and a darker shade at the bottom. Die-cut the sentiment using the coordinating die.
5. Die-cut a branch from the Stencil Art: Nature Splashes Add-On Die Set. For added dimension, cut it three times and layer them together. Apply both lighter and darker shades of yellow ink directly to the die-cut branch for a cohesive look.
6. Use Instant Dimension Foam Tape to adhere the sentiment to the card, tucking the die-cut branch behind it.
7. Embellish the card with dots from the Pocketful of Sunshine Enamel Dot Set.
