Dimensional autumn floral card featuring mixed Altenew Craft-A-Flower and Bright Bloom dies.

I absolutely love the colors of fall — they’re warm, cozy, and perfect for paper crafting! Today, I’m sharing a dimensional floral card that not only makes a beautiful greeting card but can also be framed as seasonal wall art.

Die Cutting the Florals and Leaves

Handmade Autumn bouquet card with layered Altenew die-cut flowers in yellow, rust, and white.
  1. The large yellow flowers are from the Craft-A-Flower Aster Die Setcut from Sunkissed Cardstock.

  2. The rust and red colored flowers are cut from Caramel Toffee and Heart Beat Cardstock.

  3. The white flowers are from the Bright Bloom Die Set, cut from Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.

  4. Die cut flower centers from Milk Chocolate Cardstock.

  5. Cut leaves from Marshland Cardstock using the Garden Friend Die Set.

Adding Ink for Autumn Depth

Handmade greeting card with layered asters, daisies, and leaves in warm Autumn colors.
  1. Yellow Flowers: Blend Autumn Blaze Fresh Dye Ink from the center outward, leaving tips yellow. Add Firebrick Fresh Dye Ink to keyhole centers for a burnt look.

  2. Rust Flowers: Apply Autumn Blaze Fresh Dye Ink, then deepen with Firebrick Fresh Dye Ink for vibrancy.

  3. Red Flowers: Use Grapevine Fresh Dye Ink for richness.

  4. White Flowers: Lightly blend Butternut Fresh Dye Ink toward the center.

  5. Leaves: Blend Moss Fresh Dye Ink halfway up, add Mangrove Root Fresh Dye Ink to bases, then a touch of Butternut Fresh Dye Ink for warmth.

  6. Centers: Ink with Mocha Fresh Dye Fresh Dye Ink for added texture.

Tip: Pick cardstock in an autumn color palette for a cohesive bouquet and easier ink blending.

Assembling the Florals

  1. Layer flowers following Altenew’s layering guides or your own creative arrangement.

  2. For fuller blooms, layer the two different yellow flowers together.

  3. Arrange flowers and leaves on a sticky mat or Craft Mat first, then adhere with Instant Dimension Foam Tape to build height and depth.

Tip: Test your beautiful autumn floral arrangement on a sticky mat or scrap paper before adhering it to the card. This gives you flexibility to adjust spacing and balance.

Creating the Background

  1. Press Mountain Pine Cardstock with the Fine Woodgrain Press Plate in the BetterPress System (add a shim if needed).

  2. Ink edges with Mountain Pine Fresh Dye Ink, blending slightly inward.

  3. Swipe Bronze Metallic Pigment Ink along the edges for a gilded, antique look.

Assembling the Florals to Create an Autumn Bouquet

  1. Adhere the floral arrangement to the textured background.

  2. Add a sentiment strip tucked under the bouquet. The stamp is from the Autumn Whispers Stamp Set.

  3. Splatter gold paint and embellish with sequins for sparkle.

Tip: Use foam tape in varying thicknesses to build depth. Layering flowers at different heights adds natural-looking dimension to your autumn bouquet.

And that’s it — a vibrant autumn bouquet created by mixing and matching different floral dies! I love how the colors, textures, and dimension came together to celebrate the beauty of autumn. I hope this inspires you to try combining floral sets from your stash to create something uniquely yours. I’d love to see your version — feel free to share and tag me on Instagram so I can admire your creations.
