The combination of the delicate design in the new Billowing Flowers Press Plates with the fading watercolor and intricate design on the frames collectively create an elegant memory-keeping layout.

Let's take a closer look at this project.

Elegant Memory-Keeping Layout: Starting With a Simple Design

The key to bringing elegance to this spread was to start with a clean and simple design.  And there was nothing better than a grid design to keep it all organized, perfectly spaced, and eye-catching all in one.

The idea of placing small vignettes/panels in a quadrant formation gave me the freedom to repeat some of the elements as well as contrast them within one page.

I chose the Ornate Nesting Die set to create the panel for each of the quadrants in my grid design.

The design of these panels brought interest to the page.  Since they were well-spaced and did not overcrowd the page, they showcased the beauty of the letterpress design.

Adding A Bit of Color

I used Watercolor Paper to create each panel on my grid design, so it was easy to bring a bit of color to the panels.

My choice to use Fresh Dye Inks and Small Blending brushes to just a part of the panel made the impression of the Billowing Flower Press Plate shine a bit more.

In addition, the small sentiments (Classic Greetings stamp set) on each panel were key to keeping the elegant look of the layout.

Staying Classic with the Letterpress Impression

One of the keys to creating an elegant memory-keeping layout is using a classic, recognizable look for the letterpress impression.

In this case, I used Obsidian pigment ink to create the flower impression in each panel.  It didn't really matter if it was a full impression or just a partial image—I wanted to keep a unified look for the impression, hence the repeated black impression.

Finish It With a Touch of Sparkle

The final touch is a bit of shimmer and sparkle (subtle touches) in any elegant memory-keeping layout.

In order to keep the Billowing Flower Press Plate impression as the focus of the panel, I chose a sparkly title.  For this, I went with the Dazzling Diamond Glitter Cardstock and Timeless Sentiments Die set to create the title of the spread.

The subtle glimmer of the title was enough to make everything shine.
