Stamping & Die Cutting Made Easy! (With Video Tutorial)

Last Updated: October 18, 2025

The Mini Delight sets often combine stamping and die cutting together, but none as easy as this set! I am also sharing some tips and tricks for creating clean and simple cards.

Hello there, Michelle here with another edition of Terrific Tags with Michelle. Today I have a fun technique to share - combining stamping with die cutting in an easy way using the fun new Mini Delight: Blooming Lantana Stamp & Die Set.

An Easy Way to Add CAS Interest

Before I start with the stamping part, I am going to create some visual interest at the bottom of the card. This is easier to do before the stamping part but can be done afterwards too.

An easy way to add interest to clean and simple cards is to add something on the edge of the card. I often do this with a strip of black cardstock or patterened paper, but for today, I thought it would be nice to add some score lines at the bottom. This creates interest, but does not add any more color to the card, so your eye still gravitates towards towards the focal point.

I placed a 4.25" x 5.5" panel of white cardstock onto my Crafter's Essential Scoring Board and using the stylus, created three score lines at the bottom.

Sadly, this isn't visible in the photos, but in real-life adds that extra little detail. Watch the video below to see what it looks like!

Stamping

I took the Mini Delight: Blooming Lantana Stamp & Die Set and stamped the stem and leaves image onto the panel using Obsidian Pigment Ink. This stamp also stamps letters so that we can easily line up the die-cut flowers on top. Genius!

The panel was then adhered to an A2 sized white card base using Glue Tape. On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped the 'hello sentiment' also using Obsidian Pigment ink. I then set that aside to dry.

I decided not to add color to the flower stem but you can easily add color here using markers or pencils. Not adding color is a great way to keep a card clean and simple. Just using one color and keeping the rest of the card black and white, helps to draw your eye into the colorful area which in this case, is the focal point.

Die Cutting

I then took the Mini Delight: Blooming Lantana Die Set and die-cut the flowers from white cardstock. I placed them onto my Sticky Mat and using a Mini Blending Brush, added color using ink blending.

These flowers come in lots of different colors but I decided on purples today, so I used the Shades of Purple Fresh Dye Inks, leaving one of the layers white for the flower centers.

The dies cut the cooresponding letters into the flowers for the letters that were stamped, so you can easily line up the flowers on top of the stamping. I adhered the first layers using liquid glue and then followed by the second and third layers.

This is such a fun and easy way to be able to line up these flowers! Watch the video to see how it is done!

Sentiment + Finishing Touches

I die cut the sentiment using one of the smaller dies in the Nesting Circles Die Set. I punched a hole at the top and adhered it to the card using Instant Dimension Foam Tape

I tied a bow using black twine and adhered it to the sentiment circle to create a faux tag.

To finish, I embellished the card with Essential Black & White Enamel Dots (just the black ones!).
