A New Idea for a Soft and Feminine Memory Keeping Layout (With Video Tutorial!)
Hello crafty friends! It's Nathalie with you today to share a new idea for a soft and feminine memory keeping layout featuring the new Craft Your Life Project Kit: Flower Arch from Altenew. This new set is beautiful, versatile, and a great starting point for your crafty projects. The design in the stamp set and all the sentiments are detailed and lovely, but the best feature of this set is the addition of the wall/door 3D embossing folder and stencil. Today, we are going to focus on the flower image of this set to create a delicate and romantic pocket page spread
My spread consists of two parts: the pocket inserts, and a title page which showcase a frame of softly detailed flowers. Let's take a closer look at how this spread comes together.
A Soft Solid Background
My idea of a soft and feminine memory keeping layout starts with a soft color palette. I am choosing to use Mint Choc and Pool from the Aqua Island Fresh Dye Ink set to add a soft teal tone to the background of my title page. This will ensure the floral images are impactful.
Frame Your Spread
I am using the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Flower Arch and Obsidian Pigment ink to create all the floral images for my page. I am only coloring the floral part of the stamped images with blush tones using Blush Fresh Dye Ink, Pastel Sunrise Fresh Dye Ink, Pink Pearl Fresh Dye Ink, and Dusty Rose Fresh Dye Ink. I am adding small metallic gold details to each flower with the help of the Essential Permanent Markers set.
The floral die cuts are then placed around the edge of the inked background; the florals form a frame on the page, thus presenting the perfect title placement spot.
For my title, I am bringing texture and an extra saturation of color to make sure that it pops from the page. The Timeless Sentiments: Holiday Edition along with some Dazzling Diamond Glitter Cardstock, and Dew Drops Craft Necessities cardstock are the perfect combination to bring some shine to the title while remaining romantic and classic.
Keep on Framing Your Elements
A pocket insert is always a great way to keep the framing/grid idea of the spread simple and focused. This time, I am matching the title cardstock color when creating my pocket cards. I am using it to frame my photos and also to add my journaling (it is so easy to print directly on the cardstock). A little floral corner just brings the two sides of the spread together.
Final and Finishing Touches
Small details always complete the spread, and for this soft and feminine memory keeping layout was all about subtle and classic designs. I added a few Blush Pearl Dots throughout the entire spread, simple stamping in the photos -using the sentiments from Craft Your Life Project Kit Flower Arch, and a journaling sentiment created using One-Go Sentiments
Process video
I have created a video showcasing how this spread comes together. You can watch it here, or on Altenew YouTube channel, enjoy!
I hope this soft and feminine memory keeping layout has inspired you to create your own crafty project. I cannot wait to see what you will create.
XO
