Spring Garden in Full Bloom | Watercolor Brush Marker Coloring Video Tutorial

Hi there, everyone, Erum here. Welcome to Creative Coloring with Erum! Today, I’m sharing a vibrant card that captures the essence of spring using Watercolor Brush Markers and the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Flower Arch. With bold colors, soft blends, and a touch of gold embossing, this card brings floral elegance to life. Let’s get started! Watercolor Brush Marker

Emboss the Floral Image

I began by stamping the beautiful floral arch image from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Flower Arch using Embossing Ink on Cold Pressed Watercolor Cardstock. I then heat embossed it with Antique Gold Embossing Powder to add a touch of elegance and warmth.

Watercoloring the Image

I used the Spring Garden Watercolor Brush Markers to bring the image to life.

Flowers:

  • Applied Warm Sunshine from the flower centers outward.
  • Added Rubellite from the petal tips inward, allowing the colors to softly blend.

Leaves:

  • Colored all leafy areas with Limeade.
  • Then added Emerald to the base or shadow areas to create depth.
  • Moved the Emerald pigment around using the Limeade brush for a smooth transition.

To prevent a harsh white outline after die cutting, I deliberately colored outside the stamped lines. This gives the final image a fuller, more cohesive look.

Die-Cut the Floral Image

Once the coloring was complete and dry, I used the coordinating die to cut out the floral arch. I saved the trimmed-off pieces to use later in the composition.

Create the Background

I cut a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Cold Pressed Watercolor Cardstock and applied clean water all over it.

  • Then, using the Limeade Watercolor Brush Marker, I added pigment around the edges and used a brush and more water to draw the pigment inward.
  • Repeated the process with Warm Sunshine Watercolor Brush Marker, blending gently to keep the center light and borders darker.

Once I was happy with the gradient effect, I dried the panel with a heat tool.

Add Texture with Splatters

To enhance the background, I added fine black splatters using Carbon Black Gouache. This adds a lovely contrast and brings in some texture.
