Nautical Cardmaking with Altenew’s Floral Odyssey & Caribbean Dreams

Last Updated: August 25, 2025

Discover the beauty of nautical themes in cardmaking with Altenew’s Floral Odyssey and Caribbean Dreams die sets. Sun rays, compasses, sailboats, and lighthouses come together in a heartfelt, handmade nautical design.

Hello from Scotland! I’m Bibi Cameron, and I love mixing and matching supplies. One of my favorite ways to spark creativity is by gathering everything I have around a theme and exploring the possibilities. Today, I’m sharing a nautical card where I combined two die sets to build a super simple layered seaside scene.

Super Simple Nautical Scene!

I started by die-cutting and assembling all the pieces. Then, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock (300grams) to 4-3/4" x 6-3/4".

Next, I added the stenciled sun rays at the top of the panel and laid out all the pieces as seen in the pictures.

For a little bit of dimension, I used double-sided tape and dimensional foam pads.

When you first look at this nautical card, your eye is instantly drawn to the golden sun rays radiating across the sky, highlighting a bright compass at the center. Around it, layered die-cuts bring the scene to life: dolphins leaping through the air, seagulls gliding above the waves, and a sailboat charting its course on a rolling sea. A lighthouse in the background completes the scene, reminding us of guidance, safety, and hope. The sentiment—“I’d go anywhere with you”—ties everything together in a heartfelt way, making this card perfect for celebrating love, friendship, or adventure.
