Altenew January 2024 Inspiration Challenge feat. Agnieszka Malyszek!

Hello, and a Happy New Year, everyone! It's Aga here.  I hope that you all had a very merry week and a happy start to the New Year.

I’m delighted to host the first Altenew's Inspiration Challenge for January 2024! I hope it will boost your creativity and will get your creative juices flowing.

January 2024 Inspiration Challenge: The Welsh Coast

For the January 2024 Inspiration Challenge, I chose a picture from one of my trips to the Welsh coast. This part of the world is one of my favorite places. It’s full of colorful towns and cottages, great beaches, picturesque lighthouses, nice and quiet countryside walks, and beautiful views.

It was a cloudy day, but the view was still really beautiful. And even though it might look monochromatic at first sight, there were lots of colors and textures that you can experiment with. Drawn from the inspiration I got from this image, I crafted this card:

I focused on the maritime feel and tones for this Inspiration Challenge.

I started my card by creating a background using Watercolor Stripes Stencil and Obsidian Pigment Ink to mimic the stripes on the lighthouse.

Next, I created my floral wreath using the Blossom Wreath Complete Bundle. I stamped it with Obsidian Pigment Ink, Cloudy Sky, Nimbus, Olive, and Moss Crisp Dye Inks and used a coordinating die to cut out the ready wreath.

To finish everything off, I added my sentiment created with a hot foil plate from Encouraging Sentiments Complete Bundle and Hot Foil Roll – Enchanted Gold (Satin) and popped everything up with foam tape for an extra dimension.
