Honeycomb Haven 3 Ways

Hello from Scotland! This is Bibi Cameron, and today I’m featuring the brand-new Craft Your Life Project Kit: Honeycomb Haven.

I paired this gorgeous kit with brand new Altenew Fresh Dye Inks, white, and metallic pigment inks to create these bee-themed cards in soft purples, yellows, and green. The result? A sweet mix of texture, shimmer, and cheerful details, perfect for sending a little buzz of happiness

Honeycomb Haven

The Honeycomb Haven -Project Kit is super versatile, it includes:

  • 6″ x 6″ layering stencil set (4-in-1)

  • Zero-Waste die that coordinates with the stencils

  • 6″ x 6″ 3D embossing folder to add beautiful texture and dimension to your projects.

  • 6″ x 8″ clear stamp set with 25 high-quality photopolymer stamps.

Note: There is a Craft Your Life Project Kit: Honeycomb Haven Add-On Die Set that coordinates with the stamp set. This is sold individually, or you can also get the complete bundle here, which includes the add-on die set.

Cards Recipe

Easy Stencilled Backgrounds

One of my favorite items from the kit is the Layering Stencil.

In just six minutes, you can create this beautiful, patterned background, which can also be die-cut with the Zero-Waste Die included in the kit to produce several decorative elements for your projects.

To give the images a twist, I decided to use colored cardstock. Instead of applying lighter inks through the first layer of the stencil, I went bold. I then layered opaque inks, such as white and metallics.

The Stencilling Process

  • I started by blending Twilight Sky (dark purple ink) and Lemonade Stand (yellow) through the first stencil layer.

  • For the second layer, I applied Lemonade Stand, Umber Shadow, and Bronze Pigment Ink to add warmth, depth, and contrast.

  • Next, I used Cloud White Pigment Ink through the third layer to color the bee wings and add light accents to the flowers, along with Bronze Pigment Ink for the hexagon details.

  • Finally, through the fourth stencil layer, I applied Olive Grove for the leaves, Bronze for additional details and flower centers, and Cloud White again to finish coloring the bee wings.

I also made another stenciled panel and instead of Olive Grove, I applied Platinum Ink to the leaves.

    Background done!

Creating the Cards

After the easy stencilling process, I die cut a honey bee using the Bubbly Bumble Bee Layering Die Set, and I created a super simple circular label/ topper also using the Nesting Circles Die Set white and Smoky Quartz Glitter Cardstock.

Then, I used one of the stencilled panels to create two card backgrounds.

The finished stencilled panel measured about 6 inches, so I trimmed a 4" x 5¼" piece to create this card and used the leftover to create the card shown below.

I had many die cuts leftover from using the zero-waste die on the stenciled panel, so I decided to create a third card.

This time, I used the Honeycomb Haven embossing folder on a piece of Soft Lilac cardstock, then trimmed it to create an asymmetrical textured background for the card.

Then I layered elements as shown.

I used foam tape for the images on the front of the card and the Altenew Glue to adhere everything else.

That is all for today. I hope you like these extra ideas...
