The Altenew 30-Day Crafting Challenge is a monthly experience that encourages crafters of all skill levels to create something every day. The rules are simple—create daily, share your work, and engage with fellow crafters. The best part? Virtual Crafting Challenge Prompts to Get You Inspired

The way this challenge works is that there is a brand-new prompt daily. Sometimes it can be specific to a technique, while others might be more on a specific crafting tool or even your personal experience. Here are a few prompts hand-picked from our May 2025 edition to give you a sneak peek: 

Create a Project Inspired by a Color Palette

The prompts for this challenge aren’t too vague nor too restrictive. For instance, you can try creating a handmade card with a specific color palette. This can mean using just one color for the entire project or maybe a set of 3-4 color families from Altenew’s Fresh Dye Ink collection. 

Build-A-Garden: Tranquil Trail 

Take this stunning pink card, for instance, it’s not overly colorful and its pink theme is fully evident, even down to the card panel and the sequins. 

Create a Project Made with Die Cutting

If you need an excuse to use your latest layering die set, this is it! You have free rein over what theme or color palette to use, as long as a die is your project’s main focal point. It’s an incredibly versatile and fun project that you can attempt with any dies in your crafting stash.

Now, this prompt might be on the more challenging side if you’re a beginner crafter, but this monthly challenge is also a great way to try techniques you might not normally do on your own! This is an example of a more specific prompt. Be sure to join in days like this when you have the specific ink color or family being featured! In this case, the Matcha Tea ink shade isn’t necessarily the focal point, but it still plays an important role in adding a pop of color to the stem and leaves.
