Rustic Burlap Background

In this first tutorial, we'll be using the Bouquet of Poppies stamp set and its coordinating stencils and dies to create a beautiful floral design. We'll start by stamping two poppy stems in Permanent Black Crisp Ink and then layering color using the coordinating layering stencils. For the background, we'll use the Essential Texture: Rustic Burlap press plate from the Terrific Textures Press Plate Bundle to create a distressed and vintage-looking effect.

Modern Minimalist Card

For our second card, we'll be creating a modern and sophisticated card using black cardstock as our background. We'll use the Essential Textures: Wood press plate to create an embossed texture, which will give our card a luxurious feel. To add some dimension, we'll use a foiled sentiment from the Encouraging Sentiments Hot Foil Plate Set and Die Set. Finally, we'll embellish with some enamel dots and a few vellum leaves cut using the Itty Bitty Branches Die Set.

Rainbow Gradient Foil Card

In our final card, we'll combine two techniques into one stunning card. We'll start by creating a rainbow gradient on a BetterPress plate using mini ink blending brushes and primary colors. Then, we'll use the glimmer system to apply Brushed Gold foil to the gradient, creating a beautiful foil texture. To add some extra sparkle, we'll use metallic watercolor pan set and gold pearl to create metallic speckling. Finally, we'll add a large sentiment from the Timeless Sentiments 2 Die Set to complete our card.

Tips and Tricks

• Use cotton card panels just like you would any other cardstock.
• Apply color to the cardstock and to the betterpress plate for a harmonious palette.
• Don't be afraid to experiment with different textures and techniques.
