Soft and Elegant Milestone Card

Svitlana is here. Recently I needed to make a 100th birthday card for a family member. Designing the card was a bit challenging task. I love making bold cards, like playing with not traditional color combos, enjoy trying out trends. All that wouldn’t work for a 100-year-old lady I was making a card for.
I needed something classic and settled, yet with an emphasis on the milestone. I decided to go with a floral card in a soft color scheme with gold elements.
I started making the card by creating a soft background, which I did by blending the Frosty Pink Dye Ink onto a Solar White Cardstock panel through the Sunburst Stencil. I used the Blending Tool for blending, which helps to create the smoothest blending, and tried going as light-handed as possible. As I wanted to create a very soft background that wouldn't overwhelm other elements of the card.
Next, I create the floral elements of my card. I adhered a piece of the Glitter Flurries Wide Washi Tape onto the Solar White 80lb Cardstock and cut several elements out of it using my scissors.
To create the milestone number I cut numbers out of Gold Foil Cardstock using the Bold Numerals Die Set, as well as 5 white die-cuts of each number. Next, I assembled the dimensional numbers by stacking the corresponding die-cuts and gluing them using 2 in 1 Precision Glue Pen.
To make the sentiment I stamped a stamp from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set onto a white cardstock strip using the Plum Dye Ink.
To assemble the card first I foam mounted the panel onto a white card base using the Instant Dimension Foam Tape. Next, I adhered the washi tape floral elements onto the card. Followed by popping up the gold number on top.
Lastly, I added the sentiment strip.
I really like how this card turned out. I think it's quite balanced in terms of the celebratory element of the big milestone and not being too much embellished so to speak.
