Add Drama to 3D Embossing!

Hello everyone! Erum here with gorgeous cards and a VIDEO for the Creative Coloring with Erum video series. Today, I will show you how to step up 3D embossing by adding a whole lot of drama to it!

To show you a variation, I decided to use plain and textured cardstock. The technique will be the same for both the cardstock, I will just add a couple of additional steps for the textured one to make it more grungy and add more to it's texture.

Start by misting both panels lightly with water and run it through the die cutting machine using the embossing sandwich with the Bold Bouquet 3D Embossing Folder. For the textured cardstock, make sure to place the textured side down if the title of the embossing folder is facing toward you. This is because we will be working on the debossed side.

Now, I used both Jet Black Fresh and Crisp Dye Inks on the panels to show you that both work well, and you can use either one. I used a foam blender and applied Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink on the teal panel. Make sure to keep the hand pressure light when inking the debossed area so as to keep the original color of the cardstock intact. Also, adding darker/heavier inking to the periphery of the panel will add to the drama; it will make the design pop.

Stamp the sentiment from Sincere Sentiments in Obsidian Pigment Ink and adhere with Instant Dimension Foam Tape.

Repeat the same steps for the other panel. For the textured panel, I used Jet Black Fresh Dye Ink.

Once the inking is done, add splatters of clean water and dry. Then, add splatters of Aquamarine from the Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set. Adhere cardstock to a card base. Add sentiment from the Versatile Greetings Die Set.
