Adding A Touch Of Fall To Memory Keeping Layouts (with Video Tutorial!)

It's Nathalie here with a fresh idea on adding a touch of fall to memory keeping layouts using the new Craft Your Life Project Kit: Sunshine Flowers. This new subscription product is perfect for all sort of projects, however the design of the flowers is inspired on Fall blooms which makes it ideal for your Fall documenting. The combination of stamp, stencil, and embossing folder in this set is just a set of infinite possibilities for your crafting. Let's take a look at what I have created for my 2023 Gratitude Journal ( 6×8 Album)
I love Fall, and this spread is just a soft ode to all the feels of the season. The colors, texture, and small details are an easy way to bring a touch of fall to your memory keeping. Let's take a closer look at the layout
It all starts with color
One of the most common ways to add a touch of fall to memory keeping relays on color. Nature offers an impressive color palette for the season, it is easy to borrow a few of those rusty/earthy tones for your project. For my page, I am choosing blush cardstock as the background of the page. The soft hue is soft but brings an extra hue to the page in general.
I am using a combination of Fresh Dye Inks ( see supply list for all the colors used) to color the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Sunshine Flowers blooms. The warm and earthy tones of the inks bring that touch of fall to the spread. The soft pop of periwinkle to the center of the flower is a great addition to the page, and helps bringing the viewer to the detail of the florals.
Texture and Dimension are key!
I think we all love the crunch of the fallen leaves during the season. So what better way to bring some of that feel to the page through texture and dimension. For this, I am using the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Sunshine Flowers 3d embossing folder to add a bit of texture to the background. I am emphasizing the texture and dimension of the embossed area with a touch of color ( Paper Bag Fresh Dye Ink). In addition, the Brown Diamond Glitter Cardstock paper strips add a different texture and shine to the spread.
It is all in the small details!
This new layout combines color and texture to bring fall to the story, however it is the small details or finishing touches that complete the look of the page. Let's start with the title of the page ( Greatest Blessings); I am using Obsidian Pigment Ink and Paper Bag Fresh Dye Ink to bring a subtle sentiment to the page. The darker sentiment impression marks the focus/title of the page. Then, to finish the page, I am choosing to add a few extra pops of shine -glitter drops- throughout the page. These drops just extend the look of the glitter cardstock to the rest of the page.
