Double Vellum Flap Card

Hello there, everyone! Happy Friday. Lydia here. Today, I'll be showing a fun technique that gives gorgeous soft dimension.

I started by adding Double-Sided Adhesive to the back of a 8 1/2″ x 11 piece of white cardstock. I then took the images from Craft-A-Flower: Morning Glory Layering Die Set and cut all of the elements 3 times from the sheet. Once this was done, I colored the die-cuts using a blending tool and ink. I used Misty Morning and Pale Mauve Crisp Dye Inks for the lightest flower layers, Cloudy Sky and Amethyst Crisp Dye Inks for the mid flower layers, Nimbus and Grape Agate Crisp Dye Inks for the dark flower layers, Misty Moor, Marshland, Sea Forest, and Mangrove Root Crisp Dye Inks for the leaves and Pumpkin Pie Crisp Dye Ink for the flower centers. When colored, I then adhered the pieces together. Using the layering guide on the die packaging really does help.

To create the card, I used a piece of vellum 7 1/2″ x 11. I scored this at 3 1/2″. Then I added a 3 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ white cardstock panel butt up to the score line. I then folded the other side of the vellum up to the cardstock panel. After cutting off any over-hanging vellum, I added another 3 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ white cardstock panel behind the other to cover up the showing adhesive. When the card base was made, I added images to both layers of the vellum. The images on the second layer of vellum will be softened by the first layer of vellum to give a beautiful soft look. The sentiments are from Circled Sentiments Stamp Set.
