Hello, everyone! Aga here. Today, I’m excited to share a fun and easy DIY project where I turned a page from Altenew’s Botanical Elegance Watercolor Coloring Book into a piece of wall art. If you love relaxing with watercolor and want to create something beautiful for your home, this one's for you!



How to Create DIY Wall Art Using Botanical Elegance Watercolor Coloring Book and Altenew Watercolor Tubes


I started by selecting one of the 12 stunning floral designs from the coloring book and choosing the watercolor tubes I wanted to use. I then mixed and applied the colors using Altenew’s The Petal Palette, which makes blending and mixing watercolors much easier and more convenient. The first step was to paint the background with a deep Olive Green. I applied a smooth wash to create a rich, moody tone that allows the floral design to stand out beautifully.



I waited for the background to fully set before continuing with the rest of the design. For the flowers, I mixed pink, red, and yellow tones to create a warm, vibrant palette. I used three different brush sizes from the Artists' Watercolor Brushes - Round set, the smallest one for detailing. To achieve a brighter green for the leaves and stems, I lightened the dark green originally used for the background.



And that's it. The finished design is ready to be used however you like. You can frame it for home decor, use it as a handmade card panel, add it to scrapbook pages, create unique journal covers, or even make personalized gifts for friends and family. I placed mine in a glass frame to create beautiful home decor that adds a touch of elegance and color to any room.
