Creativity Unlocked Feat. Build-A-Garden: Dancing Poppies | Negative Fussy Cutting

Hello there everyone. Happy Friday. Lydia here. Today I'll be sharing a card that features a little negative fussy cutting to create a stunning look from the Build-A-Garden: Dancing Poppies.

Negative Fussy Cutting the Dancing Poppies
I started by stamping the images from Build-A-Garden Dancing Poppies onto a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Parchment cardstock using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Once the ink had dried I then went ahead and carefully cut away the inside of the petal images using a craft knife. This creates the ‘negative fussy cutting;' look.
For the background, that peeks through the flower petal cutouts, I took a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock and added ink blending. I used Mango Smoothie, Peach Perfect, Pink Pearl, Cotton Candy, Lavender Fields, and Desert Nights Crisp Dye Inks to create a sunrise/sunset color blend. To add a little more interest to this piece I added splatter using Antique Silver Metallic Ink Spray and Iridescent Shimmer Ink Spray.
To complete the card I adhered the inked panel to a card base using glue tape, then added the fussy-cut panel over the top using foam tape. The sentiment is from Block Sentiments Stamp Set.

Laura has convinced us that the Build-A-Garden: Dancing Poppies is best paired with fun patterns of wide washi tape! For her card, she used Red Ombre Washi Tape to cover the card base, and Dotted Wide Washi Tape to accent her card front.
Erum's card stays true to her lovely signature look of watercolor splatters. Erum's ink-blending of the poppies with the coordinating stencil set gave the card an elegant look, like how her card's recipient will feel – absolutely beautiful!
