Bring Class and Elegance to Your Projects (+With Video Tutorial)
Last Updated: December 21, 2025
Hello crafty friends! It's Nathalie with you to share an idea to bring class and elegance to your projects featuring the new Creative Cuts: Feathered Beauty Layering Die Set and other newly released products. I am not a bird lover, but the detail in this month's Creative Cuts subscription has to be displayed. The bird in flight gave the idea bring it onto the cover of my 2025 Christmas album (think of it as a large card front). I think the design in this die cut and the complementing florals will work in any sort of project; I am just using it with a holiday feel.
Let's take a look at today's project.
Using Creative Cuts Feathered Beauty to Add Elegance and Class
First, I want to show you how the new Creative Cuts Feathered Beauty Layering Die Set to bring class and elegance to your projects with just a few simple modifications such as texture, sparkle, and color choices.
The size of the Feathered Beauty die cut is on the larger side which makes it a focal point on any project; so, it was important to make sure that subtle details make it that more impactful while staying classic and elegant. The idea of bringing shine in the feathers with sparkle, then using just a single tone of smooth cardstock for the body makes it tactile and delicate at the same time.
Here is how I created the Feathered Beauty die cut:
- Use Crafty Necessities Morning Frost Cardstock to cut the base of the Feathered Beauty die cut (Die #1)
- Use dies #2 and #3 to cut the tail feathers from Dazzling Diamond Glitter Cardstock and Moonstone Glitter Cardstock.
- Adhere die cut 2 from Dazzling Diamond to die cut 1 using the keyhole system for alignment.
- Adhere die cut3 from Moonstone cardstock to the die cut using the keyhole system for alignment.
- Use small details die design from Feathered Beauty to cut white cardstock and adhere the details to the end of feathers in tail as shown in guide.
- Use Die # 4 to cut wings from Dazzling Diamond Glitter Cardstock, and adhere to base using Keyhole system
- Use Die #5 to cut wings from Moonstone Glitter Cardstock and adhere to base using keyhole system.
- Use Crafty Necessities Morning Frost cardstock and Feathered Beauty die # 6 to cup feather bodies and using keyhole system adhere to base. Adhere small detail die cuts to edge of these feathers as shown in guide.
- Use Crafty Necessities Evening Gray Cardstock and Feathered Beauty Die #7 to cut shape, and adhere to base following guide.
- Add a bit of Cloud White Pigment ink with smaller angle brush from Detailed Blending Brush Set to the top of the head and neck of die cut. This will create a sort of ombre effect on the die cut piece.
- Use Crafty Necessities Jet Black cardstock to cut all the small details with Feathered Beauty die and use guide to help with placement of pieces.
Bring Elegance and Class To Your Project Background
I am using the new Piped Floral Lace 3D Embossing folder and Crafty Necessities Galactic Stream Cardstock to contrast and complement the tones and texture in the Feathered Beauty die.
Taking Wax Seals To A New Level
The strong base color and detailed embossing are the perfect background for my simple title and conveying the feel of the project. Here is how it is created:
- Cut a 6.75"x 8.25" of Crafty Necessities Galactic Stream cardstock for base
- cut a 4.25"x 7.5" triangle from Crafty Necessities Galactic Stream Cardstock to create the tree in the background.
- Use Piped Floral Lace 3D Embossing folder to add impression on the triangle. Note: you could trim the triangle into two pieces as the seam will be covered.
- Use Cloud White Pigment ink to add the detail on the embossed details in triangle. Simply rub the ink on the embossing area.
- Adhere the triangle on to the base of the project.
- Adhere Ivory Pearl Dots to the center of each of the embossed flowers in the triangle
- Use Instant Dimension tape to adhere the Feathered Beauty die cut to the right of the triangle.
- Use One-Go Words & Banners to cut pieces from white cardstock and Metallic Brushed Gold cardstock.
- Adhere white cardstock die piece on a bit of an offset atop gold die cut piece.
- Using Obsidian Pigment Ink and Greatest Blessings Stamp set to stamp sentiment on white banner.
- Adhere banner to triangle. This will cover the seam in the triangle cut -if needed-.
- Using the gold marker from Essential Permanent Markers Set create a frame around the project.
