Clean and Simple Cardmaking with the Mini Delight - Nestled Whimsy Set

Last Updated: December 22, 2025

If you love creating clean and simple cards that still feel elegant and thoughtfully designed, the Mini Delight Nestled Whimsy Stamp and Die Set is a little treasure you’ll want on your desk.

Hello Altenew friends, Hannelie here today and today’s card making project shows just how effortlessly this compact set can bring a soft, modern touch to your cardmaking when you want something beautifully simple which still feels special!

Let’s dive into how this tiny set delivers big impact with minimal fuss. As with other Mini Delight subscriptions, this set consists of a stamp set as well as a die set. The stamp set features a variety of flowers and leaves with three heartwarming sentiments to add the perfect finishing touch. The die set builds up a small dimensional nest to accommodate the sweet little eggs.

Before we start our card making today, let’s just quickly refresh our memories about clean and simple design principles:

  • Every element on the card has a clear purpose.
  • Aim for visual impact without overcrowding the design.
  • Use crisp lines and plenty of breathing room.
  • Create a strong focal point that naturally draws the eye.
  • Choose color palettes and subtle accents to keep the look fresh and modern.
  • Add light touches of texture only when they support the design.

The Nestled Whimsy set fits beautifully into this approach—its delicate imagery is detailed enough to stand alone, yet simple enough to complement almost any layout you dream up.

To make our clean and simple card today you will need :

Step by step instructions :

1. Prepare the Card Base

Trim and fold a piece of white cardstock to create a standard A2 card base (4.25" × 5.5").

2. Secure the Card for Stamping

Place the card base onto the sticky mat of your Stampwheel to keep it in position while you work.

3. Stamp the Background

Begin by stamping the greenery—this makes it easier to get a balanced design and layout. Then stamp the flowers to complete the arrangement.

Use varying shades of green and orange to introduce soft color variation. Use one of the flower centre stamps to add a few tiny dots, just enough to soften the empty spaces without cluttering the design

Add a touch of shimmer by dotting a few accents with a gold metallic marker.

4. Plan and Stamp the Sentiment

Arrange your focal point loosely on the card front to determine the best placement, then stamp the sentiment directly onto the card base.

5. Remove from the Stampwheel

Carefully lift the card base off the sticky mat once all stamping is complete.

6. Die Cut the Focal Point

Use the die set to cut out the different layers of the nest as well as the eggs that will serve as your focal point.

7. Assemble the Nest

Tuck two or three eggs into the nest and add a small piece of batting/wadding for softness and extra symbolism—it really enhances the warmth of the sentiment.

8. Adhere the Focal Point

Attach the completed nest to the card base using Instant Dimension Foam Tape for a clean, lifted effect.

9. Add Embellishments

Finish the card with a few enamel dots to keep the design simple but polished.
