Quick & Easy Embossing Folder Highlighting
Last Updated: December 5, 2025
This is Mindy, and I’m back with some quick inspiration for your crafting table. Today I’m working with the Sweet Spray Bundle, which includes an embossing folder, coordinating layering stencil, stamp set, and die.
Bundles and stencils are fantastic for adding layers of color and detail — but sometimes you just want something simple, fast, and beautiful. So, we’re taking the embossing folder and using it in the most effortless way possible.
After embossing the design onto white cardstock, I trimmed the panel to 3 1/2" x 4 3/4". To bring those raised areas to life, I did some soft ink blending using colors from the Glacier Caves Fresh Dye Ink Set.
I started with the lightest shade, Arctic, using a large blending brush. I blended around the edges and let the color fade toward the center. Next, I brought in Caribbean Sky, blending about halfway in, and then gently dusted the edges with Persian Blue for added contrast and depth.
As the ink glided over the raised design, those bristles naturally added more color to the embossed details, making them pop right off the cardstock. The lighter center area creates the perfect spotlight for a sentiment — your eye goes right to it.
For the finishing touch, I die cut a sentiment from the Stylish Greetings Die Set, cutting the word from black cardstock and the shadow layer from white.
I popped it up with foam tape, then attached the ink-blended panel to a white card front using more foam tape for a nice, thick border that frames the whole design cleanly.
This is such a quick and easy way to stretch your embossing folders without needing the entire bundle — just a little ink blending over the raised design creates instant dimension. It’s simple, elegant, and perfect for when you want a beautiful card in minutes. Happy crafting, friends! Let me know if you give this technique a try.
