New Favorite Fresh Dye Ink Bundle: Sweet and Serene | Tremendous Textures with Erica + VIDEO

Hi Altenew fans and friends! Are you ready to have a look at one of the newest Fresh Dye Ink bundles in town? Here's a hint: it's Sweet and Serene!

It's Erica back in the Altenew blog and YouTube channel one last time for 2024, and I'm going to be ooh-ing and ahh-ing about them more than once so strap yourselves in. It's going to be a Sweet and Serene love song, this!

The photo is the YouTube thumbnail showing the finished project, using the Sweet and Serene Fresh Dye Inks along with the Translucent Foliage product suite.

Oh, let me tell you all about the gorgeousness that is the blue shades of Sweet and Serene Fresh Dye Ink. From a soft, cool slate grey blue shade all the way up to a ka-pow dark blue. I'm swooning. The best way to try out a new color bundle is of course to ink blend, in my opinion anyway. Having a gorgeous 3D embossing folder, with an equally enchanting name Translucent Foliage, was the no-brainer option

The Translucent Foliage suite comes with a 3D embossing folder, coordinating layering stencils, as well as coordinating die cuts AND a stamp set. You can basically pick and choose which products work best for you and your crafting needs. If you are a blue kind of person I will tell you that the Sweet and Serene Fresh Dye Ink bundle must come home and live with you, no ifs or buts about it. Add to cart, done.

Even the name is so fitting, the colors are very serene and soft, very dreamy! They worked absolutely perfectly with the Translucent Foliage 3D embossing folder too, the lighter colors even look translucent.

First off, I ran the 3D embossing folder through my die cutting machine and oh, it's stunning. Just on its own it's so pretty, it really is. So, back to the Sweet and Serene colours, you get your standard four shades: Misty Morning, Cloudy Sky, Nimbus and Dark Night. They are simply stunning all of them, but the two darker have my blue loving heart beating a bit faster.

After ink blending with the coordinating layering stencils and creating that soft, serene translucent look on the flowers and foliage, I splattered some white gold water colours on the panel. This is from the 14 pan Metallic Water colours and the white gold was perfect to add some serene shimmer to that gorgeousness. It worked so well together!

To finish off the card I stamped up a sentiment from the coordinating stamp set, with Silver Stone Fresh Dye Ink, and trimmed this down to a skinny banner. I tried adding some colour to a bigger banner to go behind it, but it didn't look right so I cut that out of the video completely actually. Instead I added a white banner behind it, and it worked so much better. I really did think the coloured one would make the sentiment stand out, but it took away too much focus from the gorgeous flowers.

This is probably one of the quickest cards, and thus blog post and video, I have ever made for Altenew, but when the products do most of the work for you? You don't need to overthink things. I honestly love, love, love this new colour bundle and if you are on the fence about adding the Sweet and Serene bundle to your ink stash, I might be a tad enabling and say go for it! Especially if you love blues!

Well, that is it from me for today, I can't quite believe it but yep, I'm all done and I hope you found this post and the video inspiring and serene, like the colour bundle! Have a lovely and creative rest of your day and I will see you again in the new year!

With love and light, creativity and sparkle!
Erica
