Time to Craft With Lydia – Super Easy Watercolor Painting

Hello everyone! Happy release day! Lydia here, and I'm so excited to be sharing a new way to paint!

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of watercolor cardstock. Then, I stamped the branch image from Stamp & Paint: Flowers into place on the panel using Obsidian Ink.

For the painting, I used some new colors of Artist's Watercolor Tubes (Yellow Lemon, French Ultramarine, and Olive Green) and the beautiful Magenta from the last release.  Then, I used the guide within the stamp packing to help me paint the flowers and leaves onto the stamped branch.

I have to say I love the look of this sketchy image with the watercolored floral elements!

I also added a simple watercolor wash background to the panel using French Ultramarine. Once the panel was dry, I added the flower and leaf detail images from the stamp set.

For the butterflies, I stamp the bodies from Paint & Stamp: Butterflies onto another panel of watercolor cardstock using Obsisidan Ink. I then used the same colors of watercolor to paint their wings.

Once these were dry I fussy cut the images out so I could add them to the painted panel using Instant Dimension Foam Tape.  The sentiment is from the Dynamic Duo: Painted Blossoms Set.
