Take 2 with Therese: How to Use Ink Swiping to Make BEAUTIFUL Flowers? (with Video Tutorial!)

Hi, it's Therese, and I am back with another edition of Take 2 with Therese. I'm sharing two cards made by ink swiping using the beautiful Fresh Dye Inks today!
I love to color, but not everyone is a fan… today's technique is so easy that anyone can do it!
It's Time to Try Ink Swiping!
This technique is just how it sounds. Simply choose your ink colors and swipe them across some white cardstock. I used some of the beautiful Fresh Dye Inks and love the vibrancy of their colors. I wanted to try a couple of different ideas to create some flowers with you today starting with:
Idea # 1 – Die-cut Flower!
I die-cut the Craft-A-Flower: Magnolia from some purple swiped ink cardstock. When I was die cutting, I made sure to choose some areas of white as well as some that were swiped with ink, this gave some variations to the bloom.
BONUS IDEA: You don't have to use ‘white' cardstock, how about ink swiping on some colored cardstock instead?
I kept the design modern and simple. I popped the flower up on a panel of Pale Gray Cardstock.
And added a sentiment from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Silk Art.
Idea # 2 – Heat Embossing!
My second idea is to stamp and heat emboss a flower on the ink swiped cardstock. I chose the largest flower from the Striking Flowers Stamp Set as it has nice bold lines.
I decided to add some ink splatters to the background, which was easy to do using the Fresh Dye Inks.
PRO TIP: When ink swiping, use two colors together to create a unique, shaded look!
Then I added a simple sentiment from the Fragile Foliage Stamp Set, but a die-cut sentiment would look amazing here too!
