How to Add Subtle Texture to Ink Blending
I started by added some Double-Sided Adhesive Sheets to the back of a white cardstock panel. Then , I cut all of the elements, except the base layer, from Cute Camper Layering Die Set from it. For the base layer, I just cut this from white cardstock with no adhesive on, this way I can add foam tape to pop it up later.
Once I had all the pieces cut, I then colored them by ink blending onto them. For the window, I used Arctic Ink, for the shadow on the roof and door I used Limestone. Snapdragon Ink was used for the tail light, Matcha Tea and Swamp Green was used for the curtains and Pink Crystal and Mauve Inks were used for the bottom piece. For the dark gray parts, I used Silver Stone and the tyres were inked with Jet Black Ink.
When all of the pieces were colored, I then assembled to create the sweet little trailer.
Creating the Waterfall Background
For the background, I used Waterfall Scene Layering Stencil Set (5 in 1). I just love how this looks!
Tip: To add a little texture, once I had added color to the open parts of the stencil in the usual ink blending technique, I then added more ink to my ink blending tool and then dabbed the area with the tool, this gives a textured effect that I think works well with bushes and stone.
For the leaves, I used the same color to dab over the ink blended part, but to add more texture to the stone I used a shade darker to dab than I did for the ink blending. To see how I did this you can watch the video below. Here are the colors I used, Aloe Vera, Matcha Tea, Swamp Green, Oak Moss, Misty Saga, Mossy Meadow, Green Opal, Arctic, Sand Dunes, Rocky Shore, Mocha and Espresso.
To frame the scene, I cut a retangle from the center of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel, so this could act like a window. And then, I added an extra dimension to the scene. The sentiment is from Tranquil Greetings Stamp Set.
