Get Organized with Paper Crafting! Learn How To Make DIY Mini Accordion Expanding File Folder
Hi! It's Reiko with another paper crafting project for today's post by using Altenew's 12 x 12-inch scrapbooking paper, 6 x 6-inch Paper Pack, and Crafter's Essential Scoring Board. I've created DIY mini accordion file folders to get organized before the coming holiday season.
The size of this mini accordion file folder is about 4.25 x 6 -inches.
In Japan, we have a tradition of cleaning out and organizing completely everything before welcoming a new year. So I always start cleaning little by little from October because I know that I will be very busy at the end of the year.
To organize small scrap paper and embellishments, I think these file folders work well.
To create the mini accordion file folders:
- Cut a sheet of 12 x 12-inch patterned paper into 12 x 6-inch, and score at 3.5-inch, 4.5-inch (1-inch width), and 11.5-inch (0.5-inch from the other end) by using the Crafter's Essential Scoring Board. The red lines are where to score.
- Cut a sheet of 6 x 6-inch patterned paper into 3.5 x 3-inch (make two), and score at every 0.5 inches. (I used a 6 x 2.5-inch leftover piece as a divider)
- Adhere the two 3.5 x 3-inch pieces on the left and right sides of 1.
- Use a set of Velcro fasteners to close the file folder.
