Easy Miss You Card | Black, White, and Yellow All Over!
Hi crafty friends, Emily here to share an easy miss you card featuring black, white, and yellow colors.
When I think of black, white, and yellow, I think of a fat little honeybee. But today, that fat little honeybee in my imagination has turned into a card using some black foil with the Chevron hot foil plate and the Tranquility Rose stamp set! Allowing the black and white to be stars of the show with just a pop of bright yellow makes for a crisp, unique project.
Let's get started with the details!
How to Create an Easy Miss You Card
First, I stamped several of the “filler” flowers from Tranquility Rose on some crisp white cardstock using Permanent Black ink.
Filler flowers need some love every now and then, too!
Next, I colored the images using the buttery yellows and jewel greens from the Sunshine Valley Artist's Marker Bundle. I then die cut the finished colored images with the coordinating dies.
Next, I used the Chevron hot foil plate with some black foil to create this crisp background for my miss you card.
The black foil doesn't really create much shine in comparison with traditional “foil” looks, but the impression of the crisp black lines embedded down into the bright white cardstock is so smooth and intense!
This foil plate is such a great “neutral” pattern in so many color combinations, and it's a great backdrop for flowers!
I die cut a greeting from the All About You Word Die Set using black cardstock, then cut a vellum label using the Nesting Slim Labels upon which to ground all of my more detailed die-cuts.
The vellum provides a softer, more solid backdrop for the detailed black sentiment die-cuts, which might otherwise be lost on the busy black and white chevron striped card base.
I arranged the flowers and sentiment die-cuts on the vellum label and adhered them, then flipped over the entire die-cut and hid my foam adhesive behind the solid die-cuts to make sure that it didn't show through the semi-transparent vellum.
Finally, I added black adhesive jewels to the center of the flowers for even more dimensionality and texture.

I normally shy away from pairing black and white with yellow, for fear of honeybee comparisons, but I am kind of in love with how this miss you card turned out. Keeping the black and white as the main color scheme with just a pop of yellow helped to keep it from looking too buzzy and more intentional! Thanks so much for reading, and have a marvelous day!
