Using Background Texture to Make Simple Handmade Cards Pop!
Hey friends! It's Laurie here with a super easy handmade card with a touch of texture!
Altenew has so many stand-alone dies that work so well as background features. Today, I am using Linear Crossroads Die but there are so many that you could use instead. Some dies that come to mind are the Burlap Texture Die, the Peeking Leaves Cover Die, and the Just Leaves Die Set. Any decorative Cover Die would work great, as well. By using these dies on a white card base, you are adding a layer of texture that helps make that focal point pop!
Adding Texture on a Simple Handmade Card
To create this card, I first cut the Linear Crossroads Die out of black cardstock. I tacked that to the center of my card. You can use any color (pulling from your main focal point) but I liked the contrast in black and white.
Next, I started ink blending these adorable leaf and bloom images from Folk Flowers Stamp and Die and Stencil Bundle. This set comes with a coordinating stamp set to add in the leaf details and the coordinating die. The complete set is one that has so many possibilities for creating handmade cards! After die-cutting out the main image, I popped it up on foam tape for some dimension. I finished this handmade card off with a simple sentiment. I love the soft colors and clean lines!
