Altenew Mini Delight

I am using the new Mini Delight: Fabulous Flowers to create a new memory keeping layout that is clean in design, impactful in color and size, and a tactile experience in its interactivity.  Here is what I have created:

At first glance, this memory-keeping layout might seem understated – clean lines and a simple design. But hold on! There's a little secret peeking out from the bottom that's sure to spark your curiosity and invite you to explore further. Come with me as I reveal the delightful surprises hidden beneath the flaps of this spread. Before we dive into the “how-to,” let's take a peek at the magic within!

It is quite a different spread once the flaps are opened.   There is so much interest and impact on the inside of the spread that balances the entire piece. Can you believe it all fit in a 6×8 spread, and only uses a handful of supplies?  Let's take a closer look at how this is built.

It Starts On The Inside

I am using the arch die from the Mini Delight: Fabulous Flowers to create the windows in the 6×8 white cardstock panel.  A grid design is always a good starting point to keep multiple images organized  with a clean look. The design in the arch die creates two workable areas, and I am using both of them for my spread.

Maximizing Die Cut Usage

The arch die is designed with a stitching pattern in both negative and positive pieces.  So, I am using the negative (four window grid) to house my photos -in  diagonally opposite corner-, then using the stamp in the set to create a patterned in two of the positive arches with tones from the Blue Mountains Fresh Dye Inks, and Jade Dreams Fresh Dye Inks.  I am adding a few extra details to the photo windows with the help of the Mini Delight: Fabulous Flowers  and Obsidian Pigment Ink.

Creating the Interactive Pieces

For this clean and impactful memory keeping layout, I am using the last floral image and die set to create the frame/closure of the spread.  My idea was to create a top opening envelope type piece.  This requires two flaps to cover the inside of the spread.   Vellum was the choice for the bottom flap, as it has a bit of translucency that gives you a small glimpse of what is behind.   The top flap is made using the Lattice Blossoms Stencil and inks from the Blue Mountains Fresh Dye Inks.

Taking Advantage of All Workable Spaces

I am using the inside of the top flap to add my journaling lines.   Since I am using the details round frame from the Mini Delight: Fabulous Flowers to create the closure piece, I am repeating the element here to cover the back of the closure and also as a means to bring the spread together.   The small sentiment from One-Go: Loving Sentiments helps to kick start the journaling, and also make this a separate spread within the page.

Small Details Make A Difference

There are small little details that help complete this spread.  Starting with the simple stamped title on the cover's closure – Mini Delight: Fabulous Flowers-, the small  sparkle –Iridescent Crystal Gem Sparkles – , the small extra pops of color  in the windows – Blue Mountains Enamel Dots– to the paper that frames the spread  – and keeps it all together!
