CAS Nature-Inspired Card with Mini Delight Nestled Whimsy Set and Watercolors

Hi everyone, Aga here! Today I’m excited to share a very CAS, nature-inspired card created with the Mini Delight: Nestled Whimsy Stamp & Die Set along with the Watercolor Compact – Deep Muse. This is a lovely combination of two compact sets. The Watercolor Compact – Deep Muse features a mix of grounded browns, moody violets, and serene greens and blues, perfect for adding soft watercolor touches. The Mini Delight: Nestled Whimsy Stamp & Die Set includes just the right mix of florals and a layered nest, making it easy to build a simple focal point while keeping the card clean and light.

How To Create CAS Nature-Inspired Watercolor Card

For today’s project, I combined four essential paper crafting techniques: stenciling, stamping, die-cutting, and watercoloring. Follow these steps to recreate this cozy scene.

Step 1: Watercoloring and Die-Cutting

I started by die-cutting all the elements from the Mini Delight: Nestled Whimsy Die Set using white cardstock. To bring them to life, I colored them with the Watercolor Compact – Deep Muse. I actually experimented with a few different egg color combinations to see which hues complemented the "Deep Muse" palette best before making my final selection.

Step 2: Building the Stenciled Background

While my watercolored die cuts were drying, I moved on to the card base:

Stenciling: I used the Branching Out Stencil with Olive and Moss inks from the Tropical Forest Fresh Dye Ink Set to create a subtle focal point.
Stamping: To add dimension, I stamped flowers and leaves from the Mini Delight: Nestled Whimsy Layering Stamp Set around the branch.
Inking: I used the Tranquility Fresh Dye Ink Bundle (Cloudy Sky and Nimbus) and Lavender Fields for the florals to keep the tones soft and serene.

I used Olive and Moss inks from the Tropical Forest Fresh Dye Ink Set for the leaves. For the flowers, I chose Cloudy Sky and Nimbus from the Tranquility Fresh Dye Ink Bundle, along with Lavender Fields. Finally, I added the assembled nest with eggs and stamped a simple sentiment to finish the card.

I love how the Mini Delight: Nestled Whimsy elements paired with the soft, moody tones of the Watercolor Compact – Deep Muse created a cozy, nature-inspired scene that’s simple yet full of charm.
