Two Different Ways to Add Color to Hot Foiled Prints

Hello, everyone! It’s Aga here and today I'm sharing two handmade cards created with the same press plate and a hot foil technique but in slightly different ways.

For today’s projects, I used Inked Poppies Press Plate Set as you can hot foil with this press plate and I thought I’d try different hot foil colors and different approaches to add color to this beautifully intricate arrangement.

Two Different Ways to Add Color to Hot Foiled Prints

For the first card, I combined my press plate with Hot Foil Roll – Ivory Black (Mirror) for a crisp black result.

Next, I used ink blending technique to add some color to the flowers. I used Mini Blending Brush Set to apply shades from Blushberry Bliss Fresh Dye Ink Set and Pistachio Fresh Dye Ink to the petals. For the leaves, I used green markers from Cosmic Garden Artist Alcohol Markers Set A and black marker for the centres of flowers.

My last step was to add a sentiment from Elegant Sayings Complete Bundle.

For the second card, I used the same press plate and combined it with Hot Foil Roll – Kelly Green (Mirror). This time however I used a quicker way to add color to the print and I used patterned paper from Celebrations 6×6 Paper Pack as a watercolored background.

I trimmed the foiled piece down to fit my card base and stamped the sentiment from Elegant Sayings Stamp Set with black ink.

I love the beautiful metallic shine of green foil and how it changes depending on the light and angle your are looking at it!

Thank you for stopping by today!
