1 Layering Stencil Set, 3 Cards! Altenew Educators “Hue and You” Video Hop + Giveaway

Hello, everyone! Welcome to our Altenew Educators' Video Hop & today, I'm sharing 3 different cards using 1 layering stencil set! We're also sharing exciting video tutorials from top designers in the crafting industry!

Now, on to our first inspiration for this video hop featuring a brand new layering stencil set from Altenew!

I thought this was a perfect opportunity to share some colorways with you. The main product I used for my cards is Stencil Art: White Cap Peonies, and the sentiments are from Build-A-Garden Sulfur Cosmos, plus the add-on die set.

1 Layering Stencil Set, 3 Different Cards!

1. On a panel of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock, place stencil 1 of Stencil Art: White Cap Peonies and apply light inking using Rubellite and Hydrangea Crisp Dye Inks.
2. Through stencil 2, apply the same ink but with slightly more pressure. Apply darker inking to the center. Tip: If you struggle with controlling the pressure of your hand, use different types of blending tools, such as a Small Blending Tool for lighter inking and a Mini Blending Brush for a saturated look.
3. Through stencil 3, using a Mini Blending Brush, apply Razzleberry and Hydrangea with more pressure. Also, add Ultraviolet Crisp Dye Ink to the center of the flower.
4. Through stencil 4, apply the same inks but with very light hand pressure to the flowers and only add definition to the base of the petals. Leave the stems/leaves for now.
5. Through stencil 5, apply the pink and purple inks with a heavy hand, but also add Andromeda Crisp Dye Ink to add intense shadow. For the leaves, use Forest Fern Fresh Dye Ink.
6. Through stencil 4, apply Rubellite Crisp Dye Ink to the leaf tips and Forest Fern Fresh Dye Ink to the rest.
7. Through stencil 6, apply Dark Night Crisp Dye Ink and blend it out with whatever pink ink is left over on the blending brush (for the flowers). Apply Forest Fern Fresh Dye Ink with a very heavy hand then add Dark Night Crisp Dye Ink with a Micro Blending Brush to some areas to show depth.
8. Use the add-on die set to cut the image. Set it aside.
9. Ink two panels from the Solid Cardstock Set – Ultraviolet (32 sheets/set) with Dark Night Crisp Dye Ink.
10. Next, cut each panel at 1.5″ mark from the 3″ side. You will end up with four strips.
11. Use the Dark Night Crisp Dye Ink to ink the edges of these strips lengthwise.
12. Adhere the strips to an A2-sized panel with Glue Tape covering the entire panel.
13. Adhere the floral image off the edge with Instant Dimension Foam Tape.
14. Cut off the excess and adhere the pieces wherever they seem to fit the best.
15. Use Pure White Ink Spray to add some fine white splatters.
16. Use Obsidian Pigment Ink to stamp a sentiment from Build-A-Garden Sulfur Cosmos. Use the add-on die set to cut and adhere it to the card front.

The inking process is the same for the following two cards, so I will only list the inks instead of repeating the steps:

1. Stencil 1: Citrus Burst and Minty Mint Crisp Dye Inks.
2. Stencil 2: Citrus Burst, Minty Mint and Sweet Leaf Crisp Dye Inks.
3. Stencil 3: Citrus Burst, Sweet Leaf,  and A4: Just Green to the center.
4. Stencil 4: Citrus Burst, Minty Mint with a light hand (Just Green for stem/leaves).
5. Stencil 5: Citrus Burst with a heavy hand, leftover Just Green for depth, (Just green for stem/leaves with a heavy hand).
6. Stencil 6: Lime to the flowers and Hunter Green to the Stems and leaves.
7. Use the die to cut the image, then snip off the flowers and the stem and set them aside.
8. On an A2 Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock add soft blending to the background in the center of Citrus Burst Crisp Dye Ink using a Large Blending Tool.
9. Next place the Fine Tulle Stencil and add leftover green ink to some places and also add more of the yellow.
10. Add splatters from the Jet Black Ink Spray, then adhere the flowers with Instant Dimension Foam Tape and the snipped-off stem over the topmost flower.
11. Place the sentiment stem cut to hide it.

1. Stencil 1: Aqualicious Fresh Dye Ink and Ultramarine Crisp Dye Ink. with a Small Blending Tool.
2. Stencil 2: Aqualicious and Ultramarine with a Mini Blending Brush and slightly more pressure.
3. Stencil 3: Aqualicious, Ultramarine, and A4: Azurite to the center.
4. Stencil 4: Aqualicious with a light hand and a hint of Ultramarine at the flower tips. Mossy Meadow Fresh Dye Ink for the stems and leaves.
5. Stencil 5: Aqualicious with a heavy hand, leftover Ultramarine for depth. Green Opal Fresh Dye Ink for stem/leaves with a heavy hand).
6. Stencil 6: Aqualicious, Ultramarine to the flowers, and Green Opal to the stems and leaves with some pressure.
7. Use the die to cut the image and set it aside.
8. On an A2 Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock, add soft blending to the background starting from the left-hand side, diagonally moving to the right using Aqualicious Fresh Dye Ink.
9. Dilute some Aqualicious ink with water and add splatters to the panel.
10. Use Fine Tulle Stencil to add patterns to various areas randomly, using leftover green ink. Do this with a very light hand.
11. Adhere the floral image with Instant Dimension Foam Tape to the left-hand side, slightly offset. Snip off the excess.
12. Adhere the excess where it seems fit.
13. Add fine splatters from the Jet Black Ink Spray.
14. Adhere sentiment.
