I'm learning how to use hot foil on my cards, and this set offers a wonderful and easy way to create a stunning effect. The stencils add another level of color, and offer a quick way to enhance the foiling technique.
Enjoying using this to learn more about hot foil. Beautiful image.
This is perfect for the wedding invitations I'm doing!
I am new to hot foiling, so this has been a learning opportunity for me! This hot foil plate is large, so I used only parts of it for an A2 sized card. And, since there is no die with it, I have to fussy cut or create the foil image on the cardstock I will use on the card itself. I found that multiple foiling, using parts of the image here and there, gave me beautiful results. I learned that I have to be careful because the hot foil plate leaves impressions, so even if I don't have foil covering part of the image, I will get an impression on my cardstock. I colored the foiled image with watercolors, which was very beautiful. I found that while the foiling does not create a natural boundary the way that embossing does, it is very easy to lift any watercolors that get on the foiling, using a small cotton swab. The foiling is undisturbed. I also used the stencil to color the image, and it came out gorgeous! This is a beautiful image that can be used in many ways. I am really enjoying it!
