Two Seasons with One Die Set – Majestic Maple Tree | Take 2 With Therese
Last Updated: September 17, 2025
Do you have a favorite season? What if I told you that you can recreate that vibe any time you want… with just one die set?
One die set doesn’t have to be one look. By changing a few colors, layering pieces differently, or adding little scene details, the same die can take on a totally new personality. It’s all about stretching your stash, experimenting, and having a bit of fun!
Hi there, it's Therese, and I'm back with another edition of Take 2 with Therese!
Want to see how the seasons inspired me?
I picked my least favorite and my favorite season for these cards… do you think you can guess which is which?
Shop the supplies used to make this card: Majestic Maple Tree Layering Die Set, Enchanted Rose Bundle, Cloud Scene Stencil, Cardstock - Andromeda, Evergreen, Morning Frost. Ink - Iceberg.
Card #1: Winter Season
This Majestic Maple Tree is huge and makes a real statement on a card. It’s so satisfying to use one die and get a totally unique look - and Winter season is here!
I went with the Iceberg Fresh Dye Ink for a cool tone on this Cloud Scene Stencil background. The trunk is grey, the tree is loaded with evergreen, and the shadow layer at the back is actually a deep purple.
The top layer of “leaves” has been turned into snow, and if you want to step it up even more, a little dusting of glitter, shimmer paste, or some extra ink blending adds another layer of depth.
PRO TIP: Those snowbanks? They’re actually the base layer of the tree die, cut in white - sneaky, right?
Shop the supplies used to make this card: Majestic Maple Tree Layering Die Set, Enchanted Rose Bundle, Zero-Waste: Field of Flowers, Fireside Escape Die Set, Cloud Scene Stencil Cardstock: Bamboo, Olive, Evergreen, Andromeda, Lavender Fields, Ink: Sea Breeze.
Card #2: Summer Season
Is it hot? Summer season is here, and it's time for some summery green leafy shrubs, bright blue sunny skies and some bright vibrant colors.
I went for a brighter, more cheerful blue and used the Sea Breeze Fresh Dye Ink for the sunny sky.
Instead of a full tree, I used the foliage only to create a large, leafy shrub. The leaves are bright and cheerful, and a few cute flowers from the Zero Waste: Field of Flowers Die added a fun, happy touch to really bring out the beauty of the season.
One of the best ways to stretch a die set to create a season, is to set a scene. For this sunny day, we are sitting out on some chairs from the Fireside Escape Die Set enjoying the cool evening breeze.
