Ready to Unleash Your Artistry? Here's Your First Inspiration!

Here are the supplies you'll need:

I used an image from Exotic Blooms Watercolor Coloring Book for the image. I used the magnolia image with the gray outlines for the no-line effect. I then colored the image using the new watercolor tubes. Firstly, I colored in the flowers using a wet-on-wet technique using the Quinacridone Magenta.

Once these were dry, I added a tiny touch of Quinacridone Violet to the pink, really watered this down, and then used this to add the shading to the flowers. I mixed Phthalo Green, Dark Cyan, Quinacridone Magenta, and a little Opera Yellow for the leaves. The branch was then painted green from the leaves and a touch of Toluidine Red. Before adding the finished image onto a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Parchment card base, I cut the piece down to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and roughed the edges using a pallet knife. The sentiment was created using Essential Sentiment Hot Foil Plate (using Brass Foil), then die cut using the coordinating die. Want to see how this card came together?
