Today, I'll share how I had so ‘mush' fun creating a whimsy background.

Video Hop

I must say I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how this turned out. I started by creating the images from the Mushroom Garden Stencil Set. I used a mix of colors for all of the images.

For the mushroom caps, I used BlushRougeCrimsonJadeand Eucalyptus Inks; for the stems, I used Pink SandDusty Rose, and Toasted Mauve Inks; and for the leaves, I used Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades Inks.

I show which inks I use on each part in the video below. Once I had colored the images, I then replaced the stencils (1-3) into place over the inked images and inked over them using Embossing Ink and then heat set using Crystal Clear Embossing Powder. I did each stencil in turn before moving on to the next. For the 4th stencil, I changed it up a little bit- instead of the heat setting with Crystal Clear Embossing Powder, I heat set with Rose Gold Embossing Powder—the details look great in gold! And it ties in the hot foiled sentiment.

Video HopOnce all the images were heat set, I added a dark background using Cloudy SkyNimbusand Dark Night Inks. For the sentiments, I used Essential Sentiments Hot Foil Plate. These were foiled using Rose Gold Hot Foil Roll before being die-cut using the coordinating die.
