November 2022 Blossoming Creativity Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in Total Prizes!) | Monochromatic Miss You Card

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today, and I am excited to be the first stop on the second Simply Scientific release blog hop! I'm sharing a monochromatic miss you card featuring some new products from this collection.
This month's release features such a huge array of new products in so many different styles and subjects. There truly is something for everyone in this release! In case you missed the first blog hop, check it out HERE.
I chose to pair the new Fancy Miss You die with a few older products and the brand-new Trailblazing Fresh Dye Inks to create this monochromatic, blue-tiful project. Let's get started with the details!

Monochromatic Miss You Card
I began by doing some ink blending with the Flower Bunch layering stencil set. I arranged the stencil so that it was tucked up in the corner of a horizontal A2 card front cut from some very pale blue cardstock. I used blending brushes to blend the different layers using the Blue Mountains, Frosted Foliage, and Woodland Escape inks.
The new inks blended beautifully over the top of the pale blue cardstock!

Next, I die cut the brand new Fancy Miss You die three times from the same pale blue cardstock used for the card base.
The joints on this die help keep this intricate die-cut quite sturdy, making it very easy and quick to adhere all of the pieces together using liquid adhesive.
The resulting dimensional die-cut is very firm and easy to maneuver onto the card front! I also die cut a partial “you are loved” greeting from the Slim Sentiments die set, then blended some Indigo Skies ink over the top to create a much darker blue die-cut. The darker blue shade helps to make this small die-cut pop from amongst the busy background!

I lightly blended some Water Hyacinth ink around the edges of the pale blue card front to add a bit more interest to the background, then added a few very thin frames cut from the same pale blue cardstock using the Fine Frames Cover Die to help draw the eye to the center of the miss you card.
I adhered the sentiment die-cuts using liquid adhesive, placing the pale blue “miss you” directly over the top of the vibrant blended bouquet. The extra height helps to make the greeting that much more visible! Finally, I added a few coordinating blue gemstones to add some sparkle to the card front.
Well, that's all for my miss you card project today! Now, on to the fun giveaway and blog hop!
