Gold Dipped Die-Cuts | Add a Touch of Elegance to Flowers (With Video Tutorial)
Last Updated: July 5, 2025
Hello there, Michelle here with another edition of Terrific Tags with Michelle. Today I have a fun technique to share - gold dipped die-cuts! This is a fabulous way to add some elegance to flowers (or any other die-cuts!).

Gold Dipped Die-Cuts
I am starting off my tag by creating the gold-dipped flowers. I am using the Petite Mountain Aven Layering Die Set today, but any flower will work for this.
I die cut the petals, centers, and leaves from Classic Crest 110lb Solar White Cardstock. I took a sponge dauber and pounced it into Embossing Ink. I then pounced the dauber onto the edges of the petals, focusing the ink at the very edges and using a lighter pressure as I went into the petal.
I then poured over Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder and tapped off the excess. I heat set the embossing powder with my heat tool.

I just wanted the embossing powder to be on the edges of the petals, to achieve that gold dipped look, but you can add as much or little of the powder you like, for different looks.
I assembled the flower using the keyhole system, adhering the layers with liquid glue. I then repeated the same process to create another flower.

Creating the Tag
I die cut two tags from the Terrific Tags Die Set from Classic Crest 110lb Solar White Cardstock. I adhered them back to back using Glue Tape. This gives extra stability to the tag and also means it is neat on the back if I want to write a personal message on there.
I then adhered the leaves (cutting some of them smaller) onto the tag, followed by the flowers, using liquid glue.
I stamped a sentiment from Craft Your Life Project Kit: Garden Whispers onto Crafty Necessities: Jet Black Cardstock using Embossing Ink. I applied Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set.

It was cut into a strip and adhered to the tag using Instant Dimension Foam Tape. I then added twine through the top of the tag and tied in a bow.
To finish, I embellished with Stellar Sequins - Champagne. I added various sizes to the tag, adhering with liquid glue using the Perfect Picker to help with placement.
