Time to Craft With Lydia – How To Make Tropical Florals POP!
Hello there, everyone! Lydia here. Today I'll be sharing how I make tropical floral die-cuts POP!
To start, I cut the dies from Craft-A-Flower: Hibiscus Layering Die Set from colored cardstock.
Then, I used Rouge for the flowers, Buttercream and Warm Sunshine for the stamens, and Sweet Leaf for the leaves. once they were die cut I added extra color to the pieces with ink blending.
For the petals, I used Mid Yellow, Tangerine Dream, Tickled Pink, and Cherry Sweet Inks, then Mid Yellow, Lemonade Stand, and Tangerine Dream for the stamens, and Pool, Lettuce Celebrate, and Navy Inks for the leaves.
To add extra interest I curled the flower petals and leaves before layering the flower pieces together.
For the background I used Zero-Waste: Hearts Aplenty Die cut from a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Navy Cardstock.
I then adhered the inked floral die cuts into place before adding splatter using Pure White Ink Spray and Metallic Watercolor.
The sentiment was created with the sentiment dies included in the Craft-A-Flower Hibiscus, using Navy and Gold Mirror Cardstock.
