Effortless Coloring with Woodless Watercolor Pencils

Svitlana is here. Today, I want to share a thank you card made using a recently released floral stamp set and featuring effortless coloring with woodless watercolor pencils.
I started making my card by white embossing several florals and leaves from the beautiful Rosy Blooms Stamp Set. I embossed them onto blue and yellow cardstock, as this was the color scheme I opted for.
Coloring with Woodless Watercolor Pencils
After white embossing, I colored each element using Woodless Watercolor Pencils. I was scrubbing some pigment onto each element and then washing it out with a slightly wetted brush. You only need a little bit of water to work with the pencil pigment. It allows you to use it on non-watercolor cardstock. As I did in this case, using colored cardstock instead.
This also made the coloring process much faster, as I already had a “base” of color in form of colored cardstock and just needed to add some shading.
After I finished coloring, I die cut all the elements using the matching dies.
After that, I moved on to creating the background. To add some drama to the card, I decided to use the Jet Black Cardstock. And to add a bit more interest to it, I embossed the Warp Speed Stencil design onto it using black sparkle embossing powder.
Next, I adhered all colored die-cuts onto the black panel, which in turn was adhered onto a card base.
To make the sentiment, I used the Bold Thanks Die Set. I die cut the elements of it out of the same blue and yellow cardstock I used for the floral elements and added some shading to them by coloring with Woodless Watercolor Pencils.
After that, the sentiment was foam mounted onto the card.
I hope you like my card and give this technique a try. I love using the Woodless Watercolor Pencils for quick coloring. Among other coloring tools, they probably take the least time in my book.
