2 Vibrant Color Shades with the Dynamic Duo: Floral Whimsy Set!
Hello friends! Svitlana here, sharing another floral card idea, this time featuring the Dynamic Duo: Floral Whimsy Set!
I typically start the card making process by choosing a color combination, possibly because I lack a bit of confidence in my coloring skills, so this step holds particular importance.
I tend to lean toward vibrant hues and unconventional color pairings. For the card I'm showcasing today, I opted for a color scheme featuring bold reds and soft blues.
Bold Reds, Soft Blues, and Floral Whimsy
As usual, I started by creating the floral elements for my card. For today's project, we'll be using the Dynamic Duo: Floral Whimsy Stencil Set.
I used the Arctic, Caribbean Sky, and Persian Blue Fresh Dye Inks for petals, while the leaves and flower centers were created with Coral Berry and Ruby Red Fresh Dye Inks.
After I finished stenciling, I added details to the flowers and leaves using the Dynamic Duo: Floral Whimsy Stamp Set.
PRO TIP: I allowed the ink on my stenciled elements to dry for a short period to achieve a neater heat embossing result. Incomplete drying of the ink may cause embossing powder particles to adhere to it.
Die Cutting the Florals
Next, I die-cut all the elements using the Dynamic Duo: Floral Whimsy Add-On Die. A side note – this die is awesome, it die-cuts all the elements at once!
I grabbed a deep red cardstock panel and adhered my floral elements to it, creating a floral wide stripe with their arrangement.
Most of the elements were adhered flat using liquid adhesive, while two flowers were popped up to add a bit of dimension to the card.
For additional interest, I added the Pure White Ink Spray splatters onto the panel.
Adding the Sentiment
The sentiment was made using the One-Go Birthday Stamp & Die Bundle.
I cannot rave enough about this awesome set! It has one stamp and one coordinating die. All you need to do is stamp once (or heat emboss) and die-cut once. Resulting in a bunch of sentiment labels for various occasions.
I popped up the sentiment label onto the panel, placing it beneath the floral strip.
The panel in turn was foam-mounted onto a white card base using the Instant Dimension Foam Tape.
To accentuate the card, several white and red dots from the Essential Black & White and Red Cosmos Sets respectively.
