Create Stunning Designs with the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Garden Whispers

Hello crafty friends! Bibi here. Today, I’m so excited to share with you a few card samples I created using the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Garden Whispers from Altenew.

This kit is perfect for floral lovers, and it has everything you need to create stunning, nature-inspired designs.

For these projects, I worked with some beautiful new pink, purple, and green Altenew inks—they really make the colors pop and bring life to the floral images!

Let me walk you through the three card samples I made, showcasing different ways to use the stamp set, coordinating stencils, and the gorgeous embossing folder included in the kit.

Garden Whispers Card Sample 1: Stamping and Stencils

This is a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card

For the first card, I focused on using the stamp set and the coordinating stencils (1, 2, and 3).

I used the large floral stamp in the stamp set. This creates a floral cluster that can be added vertically or horizontally to your projects. After stamping the images using the Altenew Stampwheel and Obsidian Ink, I used the coordinating stencils to add color. The stencils are a game-changer—they make the coloring process easier and more precise, and the results are absolutely beautiful!

As always, I went for a dark contrasting ink color scheme, using rich pink, purple, and green shades and soft versions of the same color.This bold contrast creates a striking effect and makes the flowers pop off the card. The stencils allowed me to achieve depth and texture without much effort.

Garden Whispers Card Sample 2: Stamps, Stencils, and the Embossing Folder

For the second card, I decided to take it up a notch by adding the embossing folder into the mix. Although the effect is hard to catch in pictures, this folder really makes a huge difference!

I used the same dark contrasting ink colors as in the first card, and I also made a hummingbird using the Doves in Flight die set. To transform the dove into a Hummingbird, I trimmed a part of the larger wing, part of the tail, and one of the feet and using scissors I made a large beak.

The cardmaking process was simple. After stamping and stenciling the flowers, I ran the background through the embossing folder to add beautiful texture and dimension to the paper.

The embossing adds intricate details that take the image to the next level. The addition of the embossed background makes the floral elements stand out even more. The texture behind the flowers gives them a sense of depth, while the embossed patterns give the card a sophisticated and elegant finish.

For the third card, I went minimalist by using only the embossing folder and coordinating stencils (1 and 2).

Instead of stamping, I first embossed the paper and then lined up the stencils with the embossed image to add color.
This gives the flowers a soft, textured look.

So this card is all about texture and shape. By layering the stencils with the embossed background I created a sense of depth and movement without overwhelming the design. The contrasting colors I chose for the flowers give a beautiful, bold pop against the background, making this simple layout visually striking.

The Embossing Folder: A Game Changer

As you can see in these cards, the embossing folder truly elevates each design. It adds texture, detail, and shape to the colored images, making everything look more dynamic and dimensional.

I’m a big fan of how it works with the stencils, as it highlights the stenciled areas while giving the overall design that extra “wow” factor.
