June 2022 Fine & Dandy Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in Total Prizes!)
Hello Altenew friends! It's Svitlana, and I'm here to share a project featuring the new products from Altenew's Fine & Dandy Collection!
The Fine & Dandy Collection is packed with fresh, trendy, and versatile dies, hot foil plates, and stencils that will make paper crafting so much easier – even for beginners. But first, let's take a quick look at the new products in this collection.
Fine & Dandy Dies, Hot Foil Plates, & Stencils Collection
This release sure is fine and dandy! Hot foil plates, coordinating stencils, and stand-alone dies all work together to help you effortlessly create cards, scrapbook layouts, and more! The stencils can be used with or without the hot foil plates to give you multiple crafty options. Just add some ink and your favorite sentiments, and start creating!
Project Inspiration
I made a bold floral card featuring several new products from the Fine & Dandy collection.
To make the focal point floral element, I used the beautiful freesia set – Freesia Hot Foil Plate, Freesia Die, and Freesia Simple Coloring Stencil Set.
First, I hot foiled the flower onto a Solar White Cardstock using the Freesia Hot Foil Plate and gold hot foil. After that, I colored it using the Freesia Simple Coloring Stencil Set and a Large Blending Tool.
Coloring with the help of Altenew coloring stencils is so easy and fun! That feeling when you take off the stencil and see the result is inexplicable!
To color the flower petals, I used the Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, and Midnight Violet Dye Inks. For the stem, the Grass Field, Shadow Creek, and Mountain Pine Dye Inks were used.
When I finished the coloring, I die cut the flowers using the matching Freesia Die.
After that, I colored the white edges of the die-cut in black using a brush pen from the Fine Liner Pen Set. I did this because I didn't plan to have any other white elements on my card and the white edges would throw off the card's design.
As far as the background goes, I started making it by die-cutting the top panel out of the Warm Sunshine Cardstock panel using the new Scallops Cover Die. Next, I blended the Sicilian Amber Dye Ink around the die-cut edges and sprinkled it with water to add some texture.
After that, I adhered the die-cut onto a mustard card base and then adhered the flower die-cut on top. I tucked the stem into the scalloped die-cut and adhered that part flat using liquid adhesive. I popped up the top part (the flower head) using black adhesive foam squares.
Finally, I added black splatters onto the card for additional interest.
To make the sentiment, I used the new Fancy Enjoy Die. Making two die-cuts using this die – one out of the new Brushed Gold Metallic Cardstock and another out of Jet Black Cardstock.
I stacked the two die-cuts with a slight shift using liquid adhesive. After that, I popped up the sentiment onto the card using black adhesive foam squares.
Lastly, I added some Antique Gold and Satin Gold Sequins which finished off the card.
