It's Michelle here, and today I am sharing how you can add layers to projects in a clean and simple way. Before we get started, let's take a look at the newest addition to our Craft-A-Flower collection!
Craft-A-Flower: Butterfly Bush Layering Die Set
Ready to create a delightful nature scene? This set of nine dies will help you create the most adorable butterfly bush plant, complete with two dainty butterflies. The images are easy to layer up and would make a charming addition to your projects.
Project Inspiration: Adding Layers in a Clean and Simple Way
I started off my card by die-cutting the Craft-A-Flower: Butterfly Bush Layering Die Set from Gradient Cardstock. I used Andromeda, Deep Iris and Wisteria from the New Purple set for the flower itself. I then used all three colors from the Green Meadows set for the leaves, and Mocha from Coffee Break set for the stem.
They were layered up and adhered together using 2 in 1 Precision Glue. This layering die set is so easy to layer up and creates a big impact really quickly! I love it!
Next,I die cut the butterfly from Buttercream cardstock in the Summer Afternoon Gradient Cardstock Set and then also from Vellum Translucent Paper. I wanted to add a layer to the butterfly so that it looked like the wings were open. I added ink blending to the cardstock piece with Golden Sunset Crisp Dye Inks and a Mini Blending Brush.
The vellum layer was then added on top, adding a small amount of glue to its body only. This little step added so much dimension to the card!
To bring the card together, I added splatters to a card panel using Jet Black Ink Spray. The panel was adhered to an A2 white card base with Glue Tape. I added the leaves on top, followed by the stem. I added it so that it was hanging off the bottom of the card and trimmed off the excess with scissors.
The Butterfly Bush flower was adhered on top with Glue Tape, followed by the butterfly.
I stamped the sentiment from Sentiment Strips 3 Stamp Set onto white cardstock with Obsidian Pigment Ink. It was cut out using the Terrific Tags Die Set and added to the card with Instant Dimension Foam Tape.
TIP! Add a black cardstock layer behind for some added interest.
