Dimension and Texture Made Easy with Colored Cardstock and Dies | Creativity Unlocked!
Hello, Altenew friends! Hannelie here today with two clean and simple floral designs using die-cuts and colored cardstock. If you don't have time to color your die-cuts, or if coloring isn't your game, colored cardstock comes to the rescue!

For today's cards I used the beautiful Craft-A-Flower Dahlia April Heather Layering Die Set. Building these flowers is one of my favorite things to do. I just love to see how the flowers come to life with every layer you add. The keyhole system eliminates the guesswork, and before you know it, you have a gorgeous dimensional focal point that will really catch the eye!
With this set, you can create two flowers, one smaller and one slightly larger. It also has five beautiful leaves, allowing you to get creative by adding them to the flowers or even using them on their own.

2 Clean and Simple Cards with Dies and Colored Cardstock
Materials needed to make today's clean and simple cards:
- Dahlia April Heather Layering Die set
- Buttercream, Warm Sunshine, Caramel Toffee, Bamboo and Morning Frost colored cardstock
- White card stock
- Piped Waffle Die
- Circle die (card #2)
- One-Go Words and Banners Stamp and Die Set
- Stampwheel
- Obsidian Black ink
- Instant dimension Foam tape
- Adhesive of your choice
- Sicilian Amber Gem Sparkles
- Die cut machine
First Card: Have a Great Day!
- Die cut the flower and leaves. Use Buttercream colored cardstock for the two bottom layers of the larger flower, Warm Sunshine for the smaller petals, Caramel Toffee for the center, and Bamboo for the leaves.
- Assemble the flower following the guide numbers and the key hole system.
- Use the Piped Waffle Die to cut the background from Morning Frost colored cardstock.
- Adhere the background die cut to the card base using adhesive of your choice.
- Stamp and die cut the sentiment from the One-Go Words and Banners Stamp and Die Set using the Stampwheel and Obsidian Black ink.
- Assemble the card by adhering the flower, leaves and sentiment to the card base. I used Instant Dimension foam tape for extra dimension.
- Embellish the card with Sicilian Amber Gem Sparkles or enamel dots of your choice.
Second Card: You Are Enough
- Die cut the flowers and leaves. Use Warm Sunshine for the two bottom layers of the smaller flower, Buttercream for the smaller petals, Caramel Toffee for the center and Bamboo for the leaves.
- Assemble the flower following the guide numbers and keyhole system.
- Create the upper panel of the card. Use a circle die to cut out an aperture from the white card stock and the Piped Waffle Die to cut the background piece, also from white card stock. Adhere it to the backside of the aperture.
- Stamp and die cut the sentiment from the One-Go Words and Banners Stamp and Die Set using the Stampwheel and Obsidian Black ink.
- Assemble the card by adhering the upper panel, flower, leaves and sentiment to the card base. I used Instant Dimension foam tape for extra dimension.
- Embellish the card with Sicilian Amber Gem Sparkles or enamel dots of your choice.
One of the things I love about this set, is that you can achieve a clean and simple look by using only one flower and two or three leaves on a card. For a more elaborate look, you can use two or even three flowers with as many leaves as you like!
Another great feature of this set is the versatility of the leaves. They can be used to create beautiful wreaths in autumn colors, adding a seasonal touch to your projects.
