You Need to TRY This Cool Hack to Add Color to Images!

So, after looking back over the years, let's get to the clean and simple cards I'm sharing today using one of my favorite older products, the Watercolor Stripes stencil and one of my new favorite stamp sets, The Bouquet of Poppies stamp set and coordinating die set.
Using Stripes to Add Color to Stamped Images
I love the combination of flowers and stripes and I think adding color to your outline images using stripes, is a fun way to get more out of your stamps!
To keep my designs clean and simple, I used a piece of paper to die cut an oval frame to mask off a focal area and added color to the masked area using my Altenew mini blending tool and the Watercolor Stripes stencil.
First Card Idea
For the first card, I used Orange Cream and Sunkissed inks from the Warm& Cozy Crisp Dye Ink mini-cube set, Honey Drizzle from the Pocketful of Sunshine mini cube set and Olive ink from the Tropical Forest mini cube set .
The Mini blending Tool really makes it easy to “stay between the lines” and also blends the ink so smoothly.
The Stampwheel really is a game changer when it comes to holding those stencils in place, ready to complete the stamping process after the stenciling was done.
I then placed one of the single poppy images from the Bouquet of Poppies stamp set over the stenciled oval area and used Obsidian Pigment Ink to stamp the image.
After the image was stamped, I removed the cardstock panel from the Stampwheel and used the coordinating die to cut out the image.
I stamped the sentiment from the Bouquet of Poppies stamp set on the card panel, and adhered Instant Dimension Foam Tape to the back of the poppy image. I then glued the upper card panel to the card base and adhered the die-cut image in the negative space that was created by die cutting the image from the card panel.
To finish off the card, I used Black Enamel Dots from the Colorful Wonder Enamel Dots set .
Second Card Idea
I made another card using the same principle, but this time I used a rectangle shape to crop the focal area and I only popped up the pretty butterfly with Instant Dimension Foam Tape.
For this card I used Olive, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze, and Firebrick inks. I used Smoky Quartz Gem Sparkles to embellish the card.
PRO TIP: When choosing an image to combine with bold stripes like the Watercolor Stripes Stencil, a simple image with clean lines and not too much detail works the best!
