2 Ways to Use Sentiment Strips | Terrific Tags with Michelle (With Video Tutorial)

Hello there, Michelle here with Terrific Tags with Michelle and another edition of Creativity Unlocked featuring One-Go: Solid Sentiment Strips. Today, I wanted to share two different ways you can use it on one project!

Sentiment Strips 2 Ways: As a Sentiment

The first way to use sentiment strips is by simply using them for the sentiment on your project!

I started off by taking the One-Go: Solid Sentiment Strips Press Plate and placed it on the magnetic plate (chase) of the BetterPress Letterpress System. I placed a panel of Classic Crest 110lb Solar White Cardstock on the platen (clear top plate) and held it in place with a little tape.

I inked up the sentiment plate using Jet Black Fresh Dye Ink. I placed the platen on top and ran it through my die cutting machine.

TIP: I used regular cardstock to press the plate with. This does mean that I did not get the letterpress look, but I did still get a lovely impression with the ink. I share in the video the difference between using the plate with regular cardstock and letterpress cardstock.

I then die cut the sentiments out using the One-Go: Solid Sentiment Strips Die.

Sentiment Strips 2 Ways: As a Cardstock Strip Background

The second way to use sentiment strips is to use the die to cut cardstock strips to add to a background. I used the One-Go: Solid Sentiment Strips Die to cut Crafty Necessities Cardstock in Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Vanilla Cream, Warm Sunshine and Lagoon.

The strips were adhered to a tag I cut using the Terrific Tags Die Set from Classic Crest 110lb Cardstock. I really love how they give a small pop of color to the tag!

I cut another tag and adhered it to the back (for added stability and to finish it off) using Glue Tape.

The Focal Point

For the focal point, I die cut a flower from the Craft Your Life: Chocolate Flowers Project Kit. I cut the Zero-Waste Chocolate Flowers Die from Classic Crest 110lb Solar White Cardstock for the flower, and Vellum Translucent Paper for the leaves.

I adhered the leaves to the tag first, with a little liquid glue, followed by the flower. I cut the eyelet die from the Labels & Tags 2 Die Set from Crafty Necessities: Jet Black Cardstock and adhered one to the front of the tag and one to the back.

The sentiment strip was adhered on top of the flower using Instant Dimension Foam Tape. The tag was then finished off with a twine bow.
