Halloween Themed Layouts + Video!
Hello again! Jen Schow here to share a few Halloween-themed layouts with you. Today I wanted to show you how you can take non-themed stamp sets and get a little spooky with them!
Sophisticated Spook
The first layout features the Flower Garden Stamp Set and the brand new Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set for a sophisticated look.
I stamped the florals on black cardstock and heat embossed them using Platinum Crisp Embossing Powder. The metallic watercolors were the perfect way to add a pretty orangey hue to the images.
I used the same Platinum Crisp Embossing Powder to add a little "pow" to my title, which was cut using the Bold Alphabet Die Set.
In order to keep the colors of this layout kind of "spooky", I stamped the leaves in Permanent Black Crisp Ink. Stamping directly on the background of my light gray cardstock helps the flowers feel like they belong there.
To finish this layout, I decided to use the Linear Stencil in the top corner of the page because it kind of has a "spiderweb feel" to me. The perfect finishing touch was a few shimmery splatters using the Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set. (You can see more of the process in the video later in this post!)
Sassy + Spooky
Let's take a look at another Halloween layout with a younger, brighter feel.
I started with a striped paper from the Live Your Dream 12x12 Paper Set and just trimmed out the stripes that matched my photos.
The geometric patterns found in the Pattern Power Stamp Set were a fun way to add a column of stamping and color to my layout to offset the horizontal stripes.
I added in some shapes and words from the Snapshots Stamp Set (it's one of my faves and on sale!)
Finally, I added my title and journaling to the stripes, using the alphabet stickers from the Live Your Dream Sticker Bundle.
