Fun Background with the Mandala Die
Hello everyone!
It is Lilith with a fun idea that you can use on your layouts using the Mandala Die. It is a perfect set for creating custom backgrounds and there are many possibilities.
Here is the layout I created with this set:
To create a similar layout:
- Take the inner piece of the Mandala Die and place it onto some 8.5 by 11 inches white cardstock or patterned paper of your choice. Place it near one of the edges to start.
- Cut out the first shape. To create this design on an 8.5 by 11 inches paper, you do need a larger die cut machine that can take this size. If you don't, you can create a similar effect by cutting out the shape with the outer border and using the loose shape.
- Cut out a second shape by moving the die to a different spot.
- Repeat a third time.
Once you have your die cut background you can back the shapes with patterned paper or cardstock. If you are feeling artsy you could also create a backdrop using paints, inks or ink sprays.
To make my photo pop out, I matted it onto some white cardstock and patterned paper. For embellishments, I used stickers from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection.
The title is a chipboard piece which is also from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection and I used the Just Because and Sweet Friend stamp sets to add some stamped journaling. A couple of splatters of Sea Glass Spray ink add movement and detail to the layout.
This was a fun layout to make and I'll definitely be using this technique again in the future.
