Coloring backgrounds with Dye Inks

Since I spoiled myself last year by buying an electric cutting machine, I have became a big fan of cut files, just like I've been big fan of die cutting too. Sometimes there's just a question of how much to add in addition to the die cut elements, when creating a scrapbook layout.
My personal opinion is that the photograph comes first and everything else on a layout should support the theme of the layout. So in this layout, I solved the big question by keeping the title as part of the design, taking the colors mostly from the photograph and spreading the stars from the title to all over the page.
The beautiful double-sided papers from 'Our Family' scrapbook collection made my play with the colors easy. I thought to stamp some stars around the title, use white embossing powder to give a little texture and then chose matching Dye Inks and started spreading them on top of stamped areas. I spread the Inks with a make-up sponge, no stencils or anything, just me and my wild hand. And voilá!
To make a mix of colors and different patterns, I added flicks of mists all over the stamped area too, and to avoid too white layout I cut a stripe of blue patterned papers for the left side.
Easy peasy, and yet the outcome looks considered and good.
