Build-A-Flower: Candystripe Cosmos Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in Total Prizes!)

Hello there and happy New Year to you! Michelle here today and I am excited to announce the release of the new Build-A-Flower: Candystripe Cosmos Layering Stamp & Die Set and share a fun, tag-shaped card I created with this beautiful set.
Build-A-Flower: Candystripe Cosmos Layering Stamp and Die Set
You will be as happy as a kid in a candy shop when you play with these unique layering stamps! This set features a gorgeous, elaborately showy candystripe cosmos flower with a branch and a leaf that you are sure to love. We have also included a few silhouettes of leafy branches perfect for adding stunning background patterns and foliage to your projects.
Creating a Project – Terrific Tags with Michelle
For my project, I wanted to make the flower the focus, it is so beautiful that I kept the rest of the card so clean and simple. I also thought that I would create a tag-shaped card today. So it is pretty much a tag but you can open it up and write a message inside like you would a card!

Creating the Focal Point
To start with, I stamped the outline layer of the Build-A-Flower Candystripe Cosmos with Obsidian Pigment Ink on Classic Crest Solar White 110lb Cardstock. I heat set it and then started stamping the layers of the flower head first.
I used Cherry Blossom Crisp Dye Inks in Pink Diamond for the first layer, Pinkalicious for the second, and Razzleberry for the third. For the flower center, I used Sunray and Snapdragon from the Golden Sunset Crisp Dye Ink collection. For the leaves and stem, I used Green Fields Crisp Dye Inks (all three green shades).

Creating a Shaped Card
Once the flower was cut out, I adhered it to a tag-shaped card. For this, I die cut two Terrific Tags from Classic Crest Solar White 110lb Cardstock. I scored one towards the top (with a scoreboard and the Crafter's Essential Bone Folder) to create a hinge. The top of the tag was adhered to the back of the front piece. Watch the video below to see this process in action!

The sentiment from the set was stamped with Obsidian Pigment Ink and the flower adhered on top with Instant Dimension Foam Tape. I tied twine through the top of the tag and then embellished it with Cherry Blossom Enamel Dots.
You can watch the full process video below or on YouTube.
